Here’s how


Each day you will bring your A-game to the field of financial analysis:


Month-end & Reporting

 

  • Provide value-added analysis for month end Financial (P&L analysis) and KPI reporting (financial & subscriber performance) aimed at determining the root cause of variance
  • Continuously work with marketing and product primes to ensure policy and control adherence, sufficiently mitigating financial & reporting risks to TELUS
  • Improve on current reporting processes to ensure clear and concise management reporting with automation where appropriate

 

Forecasting

 

  • Prime the preparation of monthly rolling forecast (“Triage”) which includes subscriber/rgu outlook (gross/deactivations//nets), TPIA, and other material operating expenses, headcount/FTE forecasts for our BU
  • Prime the preparation of Annual Budget and Strat Check (long-term model) which includes subscriber/rgu forecast (gross/deacts/nets), operating expenses, headcount/FTE forecasts for our BU
  • Enhance/leverage existing driver-based forecasting models to enhance our monthly and annual EBITDA planning (revenue and cost) 

 

Ad-Hoc

 

  • Maintain SAP, Hyperion hierarchies
  • Lead miscellaneous profitability / break-even analysis calculations measuring ROI, TPIA costs & variability, performance evaluations and present the findings to the senior leadership team to assist in strategic decision making
  • Identify areas of cost reduction opportunity and coordinate team efforts to deliver the reduction
  • Create and present organizational information and financial reports to team members and leadership including SVPs, VPs and Directors
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements related to OPEX management
  • Develop effective business relationships with peers, the senior finance team and serve as OPEX prime to the business unit team

  • Recognized for your ability to synthesize all complex internal and external drivers (i.e. market, economics, operations etc.) and articulate clear holistic strategic recommendations
  • Known for your ability to effectively communicate complex financial analysis results and recommendations to peers & senior management team
  • Noted for your focus on people and ability to forge strong cross-functional working relationships, collaborate across groups 
  • A creative and strategic thinker, with an ability to articulate ideas and gain buy in from all levels in the organization
  • Poised with a can-do attitude and superior organizational skills, you can scope out difficult tasks and projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules and  tackle multiple deliverables 

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant analytical experience
  • Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
  • Accounting Designation (CPA/CA, CMA, CGA) preferred
  • Business Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or Engineering related degree
  • Telecom/IT and/or Retail Operations work experience considered an asset

 

 

Midpoint Base Salary:  $104,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  15%
