Within the TELUS Consumer Solutions team, we support the Vice-president, Strategy & Planning and senior leaders of the Consumer business in all aspects of the business, with particular focus on facilitating strategic decision-making, measuring organizational performance, and enabling key KPIs. Our team consists of passionate strategists and effective communicators with expertise across the Consumer business. 

 

The Consumer Capital Management team leads the strategic planning and governance for the capital investments TELUS makes into Wireless, TV, Internet and Security. These investments enable new go-to-market or internal capabilities that are intended to deliver on our strategy, maximize shareholder returns, and enhance the customer experience

 

As a Strategy Manager for the Consumer Capital team, you will help develop insights to support decision making, governance, conduct financial assessments to measure and track the financial performance of capital investment opportunities required to support new service and product development for the Consumer Wireless and Wireline businesses.

 

Here's how

 

  • Collaborate with our stakeholders across TELUS Consumer Solutions to conduct exhaustive reviews of business cases and pressure test assumptions made to support investment returns
  • Prepare and support executive presentations across Consumer Capital to ensure our capital spend is in line with strategic priorities and yields maximum benefits
  • Manage & improve our existing capital governance process including the Capital Gating process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business unit executives assess and optimize their capital budgets, drive improvements to capital management, track program progress, and review investment benefits against KPIs
  • Ensure all initiatives within the Consumer Capital portfolio maintain a high-standard of compliance on TELUS’ project governance requirements
  • Interlock across Consumer Capital team to conduct ad-hoc analysis and prepare executive level reporting across the Consumer Capital Management to deliver updates to the team

Other qualifications

 

  • Enthusiastic individual with a university degree and/or 5+ years equivalent experience
  • Proficient in building and analyzing business cases with demonstrated financial acumen to assess benefits, costs, and risks
  • Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables to oversee the portfolio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Track record of building and developing cross-functional relationships
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and are able to present complex information in an easily understood manner, tailoring the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understanding
  • Self-motivated having high standards of performance with the ability to deal with complex concepts and ambiguity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-suite apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Great to have qualifications
  • Graduate degree especially MBA or CPA
  • Project Management experience
  • Telecommunications/wireline industry experience

 

 

Midpoint Base Salary:  $85,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%
