Telus Health Care Centre (THCC) is an occupational health clinic. We are Canada’s leading provider of corporate health services, delivering integrated health management programs nationwide. With a team of highly skilled professionals, THCC provides clinical and remote medical services across Canada. Offering a full range of occupational health services from pre-employment screenings, to rehabilitative services for the ill or injured worker, to complete on-site clinic management in some of the most remote and harsh areas of the country, THCC is the chosen partner for proactive health management programs.

Nurses play a key role in our team environment. Our clinic nurses are responsible for ensuring that the occupational health needs of our clients are met through pre-employment and surveillance testing.
Here’s how
Direct Patient Care Activities
- Conducts screening tests (including venipuncture collection electrocardiography, pulmonary function, and audiometric testing)
- Documents all testing completed
- Conducts periodic health screening clinics
- Performs delegated public health functions including influenza vaccination
- Conduct PCR swabs as needed
- Maintains awareness of functions exclusively within the provincially legislated regulations for their licensing body
- Routinely checks and maintains all clinic-based and emergency medical equipment on a weekly basis (or more frequently as required)
Administrative/Support Activities
- Participates in continuing education/professional growth activities
- Develops and updates clinical documents, policies and protocols (both medical/nursing and those in support of services to the contracted clients), and education materials for staff
- Active role in procurement of necessary medical equipment and supplies
Qualifications
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
- Successful completion and graduation from a Nursing program including venipuncture/phlebotomy
- Minimum 1 year of Nursing
- Current registration (or eligibility to register) with the professions licensing body
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Excellent communication skills & relationship building skills
- Successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making
- Ability to wear many hats in a fast paced environment
- Committed to delivering the highest standard in patient care and client experience
- Experience in policy and program development an asset
- Evidence of health teaching experience (peer/professional and client-centered) an asset
- Experience in EKG Interpretation, Venipuncture, Pulmonary Function and Audiometric testing and Interpretation
- Current CPR
- Non-Dot urine drug screening (or willing to complete immediately upon hire)
- Non-Dot Breath Alcohol screening (or willing to complete immediately upon hire)
- Audiology course (or willing to obtain in first year of hire)
- Pulmonary function course (or willing to obtain in first year of hire)
- Fit Testing experience, instructor certification preferred (or willing to obtain in first year of hire)
- Evidence of active participation in professional growth and development activities
- Experience, knowledge, and proficiency in Occupational Health Nursing and/or industrial nursing an asset (or willingness to pursue same)
- WHMIS training an asset
