TELUS has an opportunity to grow the Connected Home team with an experienced Senior UX Designer to support the execution of our next-generation Smart Home roadmap.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior UX Designer, you'll have the exciting opportunity to help establish our UX design team practices and work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure that our products are attractive, meaningful, useful and accessible.
You are passionate about modern app design practices and are tuned in to industry trends. You’re a team player who collaborates well with product, development and business teams to solve complex problems together. Here’s how:
You’ll be successful by:
- Taking ownership and driving UX design strategy; evangelizing UX practices across the company
- Collaborating with Product Leads to ensure a clear understanding of user needs and problems to be solved/jobs to be done
- Developing user scenarios, personas, user flows, design concepts, low and high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and other design documents to drive sprint-based software development cycles
- Actively collaborating as part of the team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
- Reviewing, interpreting and sharing research findings with project teams, working to build a shared understanding of client needs and pain points
- Ensuring standards and best practices are appropriately communicated and documented
Qualifications
What you bring:
You are likely in a similar UI, UX or Product Design role and have many of the following abilities and experience points:
- 5+ years of experience as a UX designer working with Agile software development teams
- A portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences, including experience developing digital products from initial concept through to implementation.
- Strong knowledge and experience designing wireframes and interactive prototypes using industry software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, InVision).
- Experience working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms
- Confident verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate the value of a design choice to users and non-designer stakeholders.
- Experience working with Agile software development teams
- Bachelor's degree in or a certification in User Experience (or equivalent work experience)
Nice to haves:
- Well-versed in current accessibility standards
