Dedicated to excellence, our team empowers valuations, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, financial due diligence, and intricate financial analysis. We are driven by the intrinsic passion for our role as strategic business partners, propelling TELUS' strategic imperatives and corporate priorities.


As Senior Manager of Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial evaluation and execution of significant corporate strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and divestitures. Your expertise will extend to preparing purchase price allocations subsequent to acquisition closure, particularly for large and/or international acquisitions.


Your analyses and strategic communications with senior management will foster informed decision-making, elevating our organization's competitiveness within the marketplace and generating substantial shareholder value.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Work autonomously and collaboratively within the Strategic Financial Analysis team.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Corporate Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Strategy, Taxation, Real Estate, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, external consultants, and various business unit partners
  • Undertake financial modeling, analysis, and valuation within a multidisciplinary transaction team, assessing potential strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and divestitures
  • Thoroughly document purchase price allocations for acquisitions and conduct comprehensive reviews with TELUS management and external auditors
  • Craft concise strategic analyses to incorporate into comprehensive presentations, enabling effective briefings to senior management regarding potential opportunities
  • Enhance and maintain the TELUS Consolidated financial model, encompassing financing, tax, balance sheet, and cash flow components
  • Provide support for Treasury team initiatives, ranging from financing plans to audit committee presentations and credit rating agency deliverables

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Holds a CPA designation
  • Boasts 8+ years of experience in purchase price allocations, financial modeling, financial analysis, and accounting roles
  • Proficient in Google Workspace suite, MS EXCEL & MS PowerPoint
  • Possesses a solid grasp of business valuation modeling
  • Demonstrates strong accounting and financial acumen
  • Exhibits expertise in financial analysis and modeling methodologies, capable of developing sophisticated financial analysis and driver-based discounted cash flow models
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, adopting a collaborative approach to functioning within extended virtual teams, and communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and executives
  • Demonstrates independence in critical thinking, excelling in identifying pivotal focal points, issues, and challenges
  • Displays the ability to prioritize workload judiciously, ensuring the meeting of stringent deadlines
  • Comfortably delivers presentations to senior leadership and large audiences

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Holds a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation or a strong desire to work toward attaining the designation
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to leveraging and implementing AI and advanced analytical tools to enhance financial analysis and decision-making processes
  • Carries experience in goodwill impairment testing
  • Brings in experience from a Manager or Senior Manager capacity at a Big 4 accounting firm
