Job Description Summary
Do you have extensive experience working with contract management and are passionate about contributing to Canada’s largest biotech company? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Legal Services, the contracts manager is responsible for the strategic and operational performance of the Corporate Affairs, Contracts Department in addition to supporting the governance and compliance requirements of the General Counsel’s office.In this role, you will ensure that all contracts that STEMCELL enters into comply with applicable policies, regulations, and laws while protecting the company from risk. You’ll additionally manage contract negotiations as assigned, fulfillment, and material terms, including renewal and termination terms, indemnity, and limitation of liability.
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform contract management activities by applying expert knowledge of contract management practices while working effectively with cross-functional teams
Ensure the company and suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations by monitoring contract performance, identifying issues, taking timely action to resolve issues, and communicating with stakeholders to minimize risk and maximize supplier performance
Establish and maintain a meaningful relationship between suppliers, customers, and the company’s supply chain organization through timely communication, resolution of issues, and relevant reporting enabling the successful implementation of sourcing initiatives
Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage to ensure the company’s contract and finance control policies and budget requirements are met
Compliance, corporate governance, and ad-hoc legal services required
Knowledge & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant contract management experience ideally at a technology company
Strong negotiation skills and understanding of key legal principles
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to work on your initiative with minimal supervision

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$78,640.00 - $118,000.00STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
