STEMCELL Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Research Associate to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and technologies in our Pluripotent Stem Cell research group.


Acting as an in-house expert, you will be responsible for independently designing, performing and troubleshooting complex experiments and providing regular reporting of results. You will also be responsible for reviewing literature for the latest developments and helping the team identify and implement novel methods and product areas. You will be working across functions to provide training and support to other departments.


*Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term position, with the possibility to convert into a permanent role

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently design and execute experiments in alignment with broader R&D goals

  • Independently perform data analysis including: interpreting and evaluating complex problems, suggesting appropriate statistical analyses, drawing appropriate conclusions and formulating next steps in the experimental design

  • Identify the market need for new technologies and validate them

  • Contribute to scientific discussions internally and externally

  • Adhere to lab etiquette practices by contributing to ongoing maintenance of laboratory operations including lab cleaning and maintenance, ordering of inventory and waste disposal

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Chemistry or Engineering with 2-6 years of relevant experience or Master's with 0-4 years of experience, prior industry experience preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in mammalian cell culturing is required, familiarity with human pluripotent stem cell maintenance and assays is highly desirable

  • Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking to independently design, conduct, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects of varying complexity

  • Able to provide support and training in cross-department collaborations, may help mentor and train junior members of the team

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:

$68,595.00 - $92,800.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
