Job Description Summary

STEMCELL is looking for a highly motivated, early-career scientist interested in an alternative to the traditional academic career path. Join our team of Scientists Helping Scientists and build a stable and rewarding scientific career in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment.

Working within the immunology team, you’ll work with a novel automated cell separation system to develop workflows and reagents to support cell-based therapies. By pairing an innovative approach with your deep technical knowledge and hands-on expertise in cellular immunology techniques and immunotherapy workflows, you’ll drive the development of novel products and technologies that help advance scientific discovery.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fully responsible for the assigned product line(s), including: set performance criteria, ensure quality of experimental design, project planning, product optimization, and launch

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex scientific and technical investigations

  • Contribute to business plans for new products and new product proposals, as well as support corporate goals through innovative product development and identifying emerging markets

  • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues across tissue teams and across departments, and serve as a scientific ambassador of the company to external partners

  • Responsible for the mentoring of direct reports and junior team members, as well as the training of personnel on laboratory techniques and protocols

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • PhD with 0-2 years of postdoc or industry experience, or MSc with 4-6 years relevant industry experience, with extensive knowledge of human immunology and/or cell and gene therapies is required

  • Practical experience with translational cell therapy projects, immunotherapy workflows, and immune cell functional assays is needed

  • Familiarity with closed-system automation, statistical analysis, as well as GMP regulatory documentation and procedures is highly desirable

  • Proficient in independent experimental design, execution, and data analysis, with product, methodology, and/or technology development experience an asset

  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal stakeholders, key opinion leaders and customers (verbal, written and presentation) is a must

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:

$78,640.00 - $118,000.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
