Are you looking to use your mechanical engineering experience in a purpose-driven role? As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical laboratory automation systems from initial concept to manufacturing, launch and maintenance throughout the product life cycle. This position is integral in driving the technological innovation and continuous improvement of processes within the Instrumentation Business Unit at STEMCELL Technologies.Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform mechanical design, development and testing of new laboratory automation systems, sub-systems and consumables
Carry out in-house prototype builds
Perform testing of mechanical designs and subsystems, under supervision
Participate in problem solving activities using a systematic approach
Participate in risk assessments
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-4 years of relevant experience
Familiarity with injection molding and/or metrology would be an asset
Hands on experience with prototyping, fabrication, and finishing techniques for plastics, metals and non-metals would be an asset
Submission of past work/design portfolio is encouraged
