Job Description Summary

The Research Associate within the Contract Assay Services group is responsible for working on client-driven projects that support the application of STEMCELL products. The position is primarily responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of standardized client projects including following standard operating procedures, writing new standard operating procedures where required, following quality documentation practices, executing client driven studies, and preparing data and statistical analysis for reports.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately outlining, preparing, setting up, executing, and preparing report and data analysis for all standardized experiments designed by the Study Director. May function as the Study Director for standardized services from a repeat client

  • Support Study Director on the study preparation, execution and report generation for non-standardized client projects

  • Identify abnormal or unexpected trends in data and be able to provide troubleshooting strategies or resolve problem identified

  • Training CAS Scientific team members on techniques within own area of expertise

  • Support Study Director on quote and proposal generation, and at times may participate in client calls

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the life sciences with 3-6 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in the life sciences with 0-4 years of relevant experience

  • Documented ability to independently design, conduct, analyze and troubleshoot experiments in an industry setting is required

  • Expertise in mammalian/primary cell culture and experience with fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) both in one-on-one and in a group setting with the ability to present and deliver high level and technical summaries of scientific data
