Job Description Summary
Do you enjoy solving complex problems, building relationships with collaborators, and continuously learning in a fast-paced and innovative environment? As a member of the Process Development, Media team you will work alongside experienced Engineers, Associates, and Scientists who collaborate closely on delivering robust, cost efficient, and innovative manufacturing processes for cell separation and media products meeting appropriate ISO 9001 requirements. As a Scientist, Process Development, you’ll contribute to product maintenance and continuity, through investigating non-conformance reports and providing recommendations; support media production, day to day manufacturing troubleshooting and process improvements. You will also interface with corporate support activities and provide your technical expertise, helping to ensure successful project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage product continuity experience and grow as we establish new workflows for new facilities at STEMCELL.Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term position, with the opportunity to convert into a permanent role.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical and strategic recommendations to the cross-functional project team in establishing new facilities, provide supervision to team members and oversee development plans for ISO 14001 integrations in risk assessments
Nurture collaborations to deliver non conformance investigation reports on time and ensure all non conformance investigation related activities are documented appropriately
Provide technical support towards Media production services and batch record documentation as required
Provide scientific expertise to the team in preparing project proposals and reports, process flow diagrams, troubleshooting complex datasets, data analysis and visualization
Present experimental results at data meetings, clearly communicating conclusions and future plans
Knowledge and Qualifications
PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of industry experience or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of industry experience in Solution Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or relevant discipline
Prior experience in cell culture and/or cell culture media development is an asset
Prior experience working with Google Suite, Principles of Quality by Design, Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) and SAP interface is highly desired
General knowledge of biological raw materials, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 are desired
Experience in contributing to cross-functional projects is required
