Position Summary
Our People Team is looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join the Vancouver team. This role will primarily focus on designing, developing and delivering talent management programs and strategies that drive employee and organizational performance. Role and Responsibilities
- Identify learning needs, build upon existing content and drive a comprehensive learning strategy based on employee demographics and career stage
- Lead the design, development and delivery of new learning and capability development programs through collaboration with business leaders
- Identify development opportunities and drive solutions that maximize and accelerate the growth of high performing talent
- Manage resources and budgets to ensure the effective delivery of curriculum, programs, and processes
- Participate in Samsung’s North American regional L&D, Engagement, and DE&I meetings to share best practices and align to regional requirements
- Maintain the internal Learning Management system including events, sessions, registration, attendance and learning hours
- Serves as primary point of contact for training information and problem resolution
- Facilitate and organize Lunch & Learns, develop internal training sessions and/or information sessions
- Manage and facilitate engagement surveys, focus groups, and action plans
- Develop a career map for Engineering teams identifying clear pathways for career development
- Oversee the administration of the Performance Management tools including Competency Assessment and 360 Assessments
- Design structured learning paths for employee groups
- Work with the People Team and business leaders to develop content and promote internal communication channels
- Develop and promote employee programs to support and enhance culture-driven initiatives
- Provide data reports as requested for Training, Performance Management and Succession Planning
- Ad hoc projects as requested
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Business focusing in Human Resources/Learning/ Org and Talent Development or related field
- Experience with a wide range of HR, critical thinking and business advisory skills
- 5 years of specific Learning & Development experience
- Experience with HRIS (Workday) would be an asset
- Demonstrated effective communication (oral and written) at all levels within the organization and externally
- Exceptional organization and project management skills
- A deep understanding of people leadership with a strong passion for building effective teams and developing talent
- An analytical mind and experience using data to help elevate performance
