Rogers Sports and Media is seeking a Product Manager, Video Entertainment to lead our digital experiences for our Citytv, Citytv+, OMNI and FX brands. If you are passionate about product management, entertainment content and building great consumer facing apps/websites, this opportunity is for you. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Entertainment Products, the successful candidate will bring an understanding of the digital entertainment landscape and product management fundamentals, to drive forward how Citytv, OMNI and FX can deliver great content experiences to end users.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the product roadmap for our video entertainment web, mobile and connected TV experiences. This individual will work collaboratively with stakeholders the TV Programming and Content Distribution teams to determine product objectives, priorities, and KPI goals. This role is also accountable for steering product delivery teams through active collaboration with Media Operations, Media Technology & Development, and User Experience teams.

 

What you will do:

  • Articulate and evangelize a compelling product vision and drive the delivery of our video entertainment apps.

  • Develop the product roadmap and align key stakeholders from TV Programming and Content Distribution on priorities, sequencing, delivery status and launch plans.

  • Serve as the product owner in the agile development process by maintaining the product backlog, defining user stories, and ensuring delivery in every sprint.

  • Collaborate daily with the user experience, operations, and media development teams to clarify questions, remove roadblocks, evaluate trade-off in order to deliver excellent web, mobile and connected TV app experiences.

  • Commission high impact user research using appropriate techniques.

  • Review analytics to drive product adoption and iteration. Identify a list of performance metrics and use those insights to make data-based decisions.  

  • Relentlessly carry out competitive analysis and benchmarking.

  • Track industry trends and competitive offerings in the video entertainment space.

  • Collaborate with sales and ad teams to identify and support opportunities to drive revenue through various monetization strategies.

  • Monitor feedback from multiple channels, and ensure issues are captured, escalated, and resolved.

 

What you will bring:

  • Experience with consumer facing digital experiences in a product management, strategy or business development role. Preferably in the media/video vertical.

  • Experience with product ownership of web, mobile and/or connected TV apps.

  • Strong understanding of the agile development process.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.

  • University or College degree is preferred
