We have a full-time opportunity for a Software Engineer, with expertise in .NET, to join our Engineering Team.

As part of the Engineering team, you will work on an award-winning digital platform, and work across various stages of the software development cycle on a wide range of development projects. You will use your proven experience in .NET to heighten our current and future projects. You will help shape the culture and success of our Engineering department.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who has about 4+ years of experience working with .NET applications as part of a professional team. Solid experience with C# and SQL is essential.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and build core logic and backend services for PressReader applications.
  • Deliver quality code by applying development practices, leveraging test driven development methodology and supporting test automation.
  • Participate in estimating project efforts and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in peer design and code reviews.
  • Identify technical, schedule, and other project risks and provide relevant feedback.
  • Proactively collaborate with teammates and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure project efforts proceed efficiently and with predictability.
  • Document your solutions.
  • Use feedback analysis.
  • Provide technical input into product roadmaps, negotiating compromises between business and technical constraints.

You are a great fit if you have:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in building .NET web applications.
  • Proficiency in C#, SQL, and database design.
  • Experience building and designing scalable and reliable systems.
  • Experiencing configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with refactoring complex code using SOLID principles to improve testability and maintainability.
  • Knowledge or experience with test driven development and agile/iterative development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • A team-player mindset and the desire to expand your skills while being able to share ideas and knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Experience in migrating legacy .Net applications to .Net core or .NET 5+.

Bonus points if you:

  • Experience building and designing micro services.
  • Have experience with .NET 5+, Azure DevOps, Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with a modern front-end development framework, e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js.
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector.
