About this team:
The architecture group at lululemon is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of technical strategies that support every aspect of our rapidly scaling global business. You will work in a matrixed environment alongside peers in business, engineering, program, ux and strategy – among other disciplines – to collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions aligned to business goals and objectives. In addition to your primary team, project, or portfolio you will be supported by a diverse Architecture Community of Practice, which provides learning and governance resources to all architects and will help you build a strong and robust practice of leadership grounded in technical proficiency, innovative thinking and empathy.
A Day in the Life:
- Serve as the Architecture leader for program delivery, in partnership with Product, Engineering, Program and Business Leadership
- Aligns standards of practice to and serves as primary path of escalation for partnership with various stakeholders and Sr. Executives
- Evangelize and champion instances where teams deliver solutions that drive business performance while creating scalable, cost efficient and reusable components that demonstrate our most important architectural principles
- Represent the practices of architecture and engineering by framing technical or architectural alternatives in business terms, clearly articulating both business and technical implications of various options.
- Defines, tracks and measures the progression of “enterprise leverage” across the technology owned capabilities by driving the creation, adoption and reuse of enterprise technology assets.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to evangelize and design principles focusing on scale, resiliency, security and data safety
- Work closely with Product Management and/or Tech Leadership to define and execute on a shared roadmap.
- Foster a high-performance culture by promoting ownership and responsibility across all teams.
- Establish and mature best practices and standardized frameworks, tools and operational processes related to architecture– across management and individual contribution roles; Lead creation and ensure maintenance of the architecture job families
- Handles architecture budget for part of the portfolios.
- “Buy” vs. “Build:” Ratifies architectures that incorporate in-house managed development, integrations with vendors and integrations with 2nd party partners within lululemon.
- Key investment decisions for architectures, including decision authority to sunset, contain or grow.
- Reference architecture approval for all development patterns and reusable componentry
- Architecture skill/fitness alignment & promotion approval for all engineering and architecture job families.
- Governs solution design and standards of practice across entire tech foundation portfolios
- Partners closely with DLT and delivers technology foundation capabilities and Architecture roadmaps
- Partners with Business Innovation leaders and provides technology supports
- Develops and grows team
Must Haves:
- 10+ years' experience in cloud architect roles with enterprise-scale design responsibilities.
- Must have 5+ years experience in leading teams.
- Global e-commerce experience
- Preferred large enterprise experience in a matrixed environment.
- Must have knowledge and/or experience with technologies applied to enterprises at global scale.
- Must have an understanding of enterprise security and privacy requirements associated with the above technologies.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating on latest technologies with Engineers and Architects.
- Extensive background in working with business partners: Translating business needs into prioritized technology features and requirements.
- Consistent record of being results oriented with demonstrated ability to achieve bold goals
- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience with Agile software development methodology.
- Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others
