Responsibilities

  • Flight planning
  • Securing airspace access permission from ATC and other agencies
  • Making safe aircraft-related decisions
  • Working closely with the Sensor Operator to plan each day’s missions
  • Reporting to the airport within sixty-one (61) minutes of a call out
  • Closely monitoring weather
  • Various office administrative tasks

Requirements – Must Have

  • Canadian Commercial Pilots License with valid Transport Canada Class 1 Medical
  • Minimum of 1000hrs PIC
  • Multi Engine Rating with a minimum of 200hrs experience (minima may be reduced for pilots with survey exp.)
  • Ability to pass Group 1 IFR PPC
  • Strong skills in interpretation of GFAs and other weather products
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Discipline, motivation and stamina to do the best job possible, tempered by a safety attitude strong enough to say ‘no’ when the conditions warrant

Requirements – Asset to Have

  • Previous aerial survey or similar aerial work experience
  • Mountain flying experience, preferably in BC
  • Familiar and comfortable operating from a variety of controlled and uncontrolled airports
  • Flight time in a Piper twin
  • Cool stories to tell us

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $40,000 – $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and responsibilities
