Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 16 moth work term commencing in May 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term.
The IBM Security development team works on leading-edge products and solutions to help organizations analyze their data environment to make sound decisions to ensure regulatory compliance and improve their data security.
The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for developing software using the latest web technologies as demonstrated by their contribution to open-source projects, experimenting with new technologies and development of their own hobby applications. They should also have a keen interest in researching the latest data security trends and regulations and a broad understanding of cybersecurity attacks.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Hands-on experience in Web Development with the following programming languages and knowledge, such as ReactJS, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, NodeJS and Webpack
- Experience with Restful APIs.
- Academic solid foundation in Computer Science or related fields: Data structures, algorithms, networking
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey ideas and opinions to others.
- Must be eligible to work 16 months starting in May
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Exposure to at least one modern web application framework (ReactJS preferably)
- Experience writing unit tests and other UI-automated tests with various test frameworks.
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD tools, e.g., Jenkins, Travis
- Experiences in full-stack development
- Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
