As a Software Developer for Cloud Pak for Data Integration you will join our Integration Verification Test team working on IBM Cloud Pak™ for Data as a platform that supports 40+ services, which range from Hybrid Data Management, to Unified Governance & Integration, and to Data Science & Advanced Analytics. The team will be also supporting the delivery of the recently announced Watsonx from IBM, our upcoming enterprise-ready AI and data platform designed to multiply the impact of AI across your business. The platform comprises three powerful components: the Watsonx.ai studio for new foundation models, generative AI and machine learning; the Watsonx.data fit-for-purpose store for the flexibility of a data lake and the performance of a data warehouse; plus the Watsonx.governance toolkit, to enable AI workflows that are built with responsibility, transparency and explainability.

You will collaborate with software developers, architects, and test engineers in the related areas to build, test and automate the end-to-end solution-based integration scenarios based on real client feedback to ensure high quality and delightful customer experiences. You will have opportunities to work with different technologies both on-premise and on cloud. Our purpose is to ensure a seamless customer experience by ensuring high quality and ease of use, while increasing software testing rigour and accuracy via automation and timely testing.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and automate test scenarios spanning multiple offerings in complex environments
• Collect and analyze results with a focus on problem determination in order to ensure application and solution feature capability and stability.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement or optimization within products and their dependent areas.
• Manage and understand IBM Cloud Pak for Data cluster environments, work with Kubernetes, OpenShift and other open-source technology and tools in various cloud environment such as IBM cloud and AWS, as well as on-premise software stack deployments.
• Deploy IBM Cloud Pak for Data and IBM Watsonx integrated use cases.

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering
• At least 3 years of Testing or Software development experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication, teamwork, and debugging skills
• Understands Quality Assurance and Agile tools and methodologies
• Understands software user pain points and is eager to learn how to transform business requirements into QA test case planning and execution
• Solid working knowledge in automation development.
• Development experience in Java Script or Java, Kibana and ElasticSearch as well as scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, shell script, Groovy etc)
• Expertise in using Github and Jenkins and building CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with UNIX, Linux, or Windows
• Very quick learner of technology, be able to multi-task, and thrive in complex situations

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Understanding of data sources ( eg Snowflake, Teradata, DB2), data ingestion, transformation and governance
• Various cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or IBM Cloud
• RedHat OpenShift, Jupyter notebooks, Kubernetes systems
