Manager/Director of Technology
HTuO Biosciences is looking for a Manager or Director of Technology to coordinate development between R&D and Application teams, and to build and manage a team spanning Software development, DevOps and IT. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and will work directly with the heads of other departments to help plan the future direction of the company.

What You’ll Do
When you join us, you’ll take ownership of building product roadmap, defining requirements (working in conjunction with R&D and Computational Chemistry teams) as we move into commercialization of our platform. This will include managing system architecture documents, and creating test validation plans. You’ll begin in a hands-on role, helping our R&D team grow our cloud presence and oversee the growth of software development, DevOps and IT teams to support the company as it matures.
You’ll also take an active part in representing the company on technical matters, working closely with our R&D and computational chemistry leads. You will assist by leading our scrum meetings, tracking and reporting on development processes and helping us elevate our agile development practices. You’ll also draw on your experience to mentor members of our R&D team on software development.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field.
- Significant experience in Python and C++ programming is required.
- Knowledge of cloud computing (Google cloud would be an asset)
- Experience with development for GPU
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in leading software development, or equivalent academic experience
- Minimum 2 years experience leading a team of 5 or more people
- Knowledge of science, or experience in scientific computing would be an asset. Experience with Molecular Modeling, Quantum Mechanics or Physics would be ideal.
- Prior startup experience is strongly preferred
