Your role:
Global Relay delivers enterprise services to 23,000 customers in 90 countries, including 22 of the top 25 global banks. Our infrastructure teams provide fantastic opportunities to those working in DevOps, Site Reliability or System Administration, who are passionate about massively scalable, big-data architecture, with a strong focus on security.
- Work in a highly distributed and cross-functional team
- Demonstrate expertise in the research, design, deployment and maintenance of monitoring and observability systems and solutions
- Scale and manage infrastructure with high throughput, availability and storage requirements
- Automate all the things
Required skills:
- 10+ years' experience in Linux system administration of bare metal, virtual machines and containers in an on-premise private cloud environment
- High proficiency in implementing and using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Fabric, Terraform)
- Strong communicator with a natural ability to analyze complex systems and problems and express them in simple terms
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
- Deep understanding of the dynamic nature of microservice observability (logging, tracing, metrics, profiling, etc.)
- Strong desire to manage systems, services and data at scale
Nice-to-have skills:
- Effective at researching and advising on new technology implementations
- Container orchestration experience (Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, Nomad, etc.)
- Experience with microservices
- SQL administration (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
