Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment focusing mainly on our Mining line of equipment.

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Prepare equipment for delivery to end customers
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing 777, 785, 793, 797 required
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar Mining product line will be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets

Note:

  • This position is for a 7x7 continuous shift, based out of our Red Deer facility
  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
