Position Overview:

Responsible for overall performance of branch operations, including customer, safety, and financial results. This position is required to demonstrate clear and effective leadership, while providing a healthy and safe environment for all branch employees. Facilitating targeted levels of customer satisfaction, revenue forecasting, and fleet forecasting are required functions of the Branch Operations Supervisor II.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

Safety Leadership (25%)

  • Accountable for the overall safety performance of the branch
  • Demonstrate awareness and a commitment to factors that influence personal safety and the safety of others
  • Ensure safety practices are in place that prevent danger, risk or injury
  • Ensure employees hold and maintain the appropriate safety training required for their position
  • Conduct all required inspections and supervisor walk-throughs
  • Manage vehicle fleet safety compliance

Operations & Customer Service (25%)

  • Accountable to meet or exceed specified key performance indicators for the branch
  • Achieve RTR (Return to Ready) targets
  • Manages inside sales of all products and services, including rentals, the company offers
  • Resolves any customer issues including billing, quality and delivery ensuring service department is informed on all quality issues

People Leadership (25%)

  • Responsible for the day to day leadership of a variety of staff including the recruitment and selection, onboarding, coaching and mentoring, performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities

Results and Financial Management (25%)

  • Manage fleet on rent to achieve monthly forecasts
  • Manage to annual objectives for the branch
  • Evaluate sales and expense budgets monthly against planned goals
  • Participate in monthly revenue forecasting and income statement reviews

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the Caterpillar and Allied product lines
  • Understanding of local CBA and its application
  • Strong understanding of TCRS processes and procedures
  • Strong understanding of service and RTR processes
  • Business and financial acumen, including revenue forecasting and SG&A management
  • Performance Management and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) processes and the principles of high-performance leadership

Accountability:

  • Accountable for providing a safe work environment and providing safety leadership to all levels within a branch. Ensuring the implementation of all safety initiatives and compliance with safety programs and policies to achieve world class safety in the workplace
  • Accountable for talent management for all levels of employees within your branch/region
  • Accountable for maintaining and fostering a healthy relationship with the union and unionized employees
  • Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with internal and external departments and staff
  • Accountable for managing service and delivery trucks within National Safety Code parameters
  • Responsible for the effective human resources management of staff and to foster an effective work environment which successfully contributes the achievement of the business goals and objectives for Finning (Canada) and the work unit
  • Accountable for the overall financial performance of the branch, including revenue generation and cost management

Education & Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in a related industry
  • 3-5years of previous supervisory experience
  • Post-secondary or technical education considered an asset
  • Revenue forecasting and financial reporting experience is required
