Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment in the shop and field environments.

Industry leading potential total compensation plan: $115000 - $120000 / year

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (required)
  • Minimum 5 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Completion, or in the process of completing, Finning S-level courses
  • Dedication to safety
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Previous Mining or Forestry Experience would be considered an asset

Note:

  • This position is for a 5x2 shift schedule, based out of our Edmonton facility
  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
