Game Designer Location - EA Toronto / PopCap Studios

PopCap is looking for a game designer to add to our Plants vs. Zombies franchise, creating, coordinating, and building onto our content and feature for our live operations Plants vs. Zombies 2.
As designer, you will shape new content and features for PvZ2. You will back up your plans using data & customer insights with the goal of growing engagement with core players through high-value features and meta adjustment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across a global team to bring your amazing designs to life engaging game content that aligns with the product goals
- Build concise game design documentation for game content and features
- Assess and apply qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve game design and balance
- Design and guide the implementation of game features and systems with an eye for engagement, retention, monetization, and most importantly, what players want
- Coordinate with artists, engineers, and other team members to ensure the smooth integration of design elements into the game engine
- Attend regular team meetings and contribute to the creative direction of the game.
- You will work in a Co-Dev environment, reporting to the project stakeholders and the design lead
Requirements:
What we're looking for:
- At least 2+ years of game design experience in a Casual mobile gaming company
- A strength in one of the following areas: level design, feature design, events design, or quest design
- Experience and knowledge with data and using data to make changes to live designs/features
- Strong knowledge of game design principles, including mechanics, storytelling, and level design
- Accomplished with writing clear and concise specs, user flows, and feature documentation
- Experience with mobile gaming and deep understanding of habit-creating core loops
- Understanding of economy balance and tuning
