EA Create is looking for a Technical Animator to join our team in assisting BioWare on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. EA Create is known to partner with AAA studios such as BioWare, Respawn, and Maxis, and assist on the critically acclaimed Madden and FIFA franchises. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative group with team members all over the world and have your work shown to millions of viewers, players, peers, and industry professionals.

You would report to a director within the Animation team and be responsible for multiple technical features including runtime systems, physics, and implementation. You will work with partners in multiple disciplines, locations, and departments. In the end, the look of a game is one of the most significant factors contributing to the overall success of the game.

Role Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical animation experience.
  • Experience rigging and skinning assets.
  • Reliable internet service to work remotely.
  • Thrive in a collaborative work environment.

Role Expectations:

  • Independently drive multiple key features for technical animation including runtime systems, physics / ragdoll, and facial animation R&D and implementation.
  • Lead communication efforts related to assigned features.
  • Collaborate with external partners.
  • Ramp up on existing animation systems, tools, and pipelines to provide support and debugging.
  • Prototype and implement procedural animation systems such as facial animation, destruction, cloth, and hair.
  • Collaborate with design, character art, animation, and outsourcing teams.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Python or C++
  • Experience with animation principles and anatomy.
  • Experience with Motion Capture and retargeting.
  • Proficient in standard industry tools such as Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience with Frostbite / FrostEd

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $54,900 - $84,750 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and after 3 months of service - extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
