Department Overview

The Path Forward Return to Work program at Motorola Solutions is a 16- week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to individuals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least 2 years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply.

Job Description

NOTE: The candidate MUST reside in PA, MD, VA, WV or DE.

The candidate MUST have experience in construction management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.

  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.

  • Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.

  • Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.

  • Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status.

  • Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.

  • Motivates the project team to ensure optimal performance.

  • May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)

  • Understanding of two way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems a plus.

  • Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services is a plus.

  • Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills

Monitor/supervise all construction related operations of the business organization to include:

  • Site Acquisition and Leasing

  • Zoning

  • Architectural and Engineering Services

  • Building Renovations and Co-location

  • Compete Site Design and Construction

  • Construction Management

  • Management of third party construction services

Bonus Requirements:

  • PM Masters Certificate a plus

  • PMP is highly desired

  • PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

Basic Requirements

  • MUST meet Path Forward Returnship guideline including: at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least 2 years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of project/program management or engineering experience in a technical field
  • OR 7+ years of project/program management or engineering experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
